I said yesterday that I didn’t think the Toronto Blue Jays ought to be preferred on the street, particularly against anybody at this point. So, when I watched them against the Seattle Mariners, that were debuting their pitching prospect, Justus Sheffield, I jumped all over Seattle. Throw in the fact that Toronto had dropped five straight matches, along with the Mariners had won their last three show, and it felt like a fantastic worth place.
The game was a thrilling back and forth affair that saw Toronto demanding up Sheffield and jump from an early 2-0 lead. The M revealed a lot of heart and battled back into the game and took charge of the competition using a three-run sixth inning. With the 7-4 success, Seattle came away in the end, and we picked up another underdog winner.
As last night we picked up our winner at our last ten bets, Following a slow beginning to August we have caught fire here. And this hasn’t been an instance each evening of placing a lot of backing and wood favorites. Of those eight stakes that were winnings, six of them have come as either money or about underdogs. We will look to keep hot tonight as we head to San Diego, where the Padres sponsor the Red Sox.
The Boston Red Sox have been at San Diego Saturday for game two of a three-game placed against the Padres. Even the Red Sox dominated game only picking up the victory that was 11-0. The Padres are closed by eduardo Rodriguez down all night as he tossed seven shutout innings. And J.D. Martinez given the firepower as he exploded for a three-hit nighttime, two of that left the playground, along with seven RBI.
Even the Red Sox are urgently hoping to remain in the search for the second wild card at the American League and currently course the Oakland Athletics and the Cleveland Indians for the final playoff spot in the league by six and a half games. The defending World Series champs should discover a means to pick up a win tonight against an Padres team and have won six from their last eight games.
For San Diego, the Padres have lost three consecutive games and seven out of their past eleven. This team is currently trying to discover a way to live. The Padres have been disappointing this year, but they’d love to play spoiler tonight.
Beginning for the Red Sox is Nathan Eovaldi (1-0 6.69 ERA), and also for the Padres it’s Dinelson Lamet (2-2 3.95 ERA). The game is set at eight and a half runs. The Red Sox are -119 road favorites. First pitch is scheduled to get 5:40 PM PST in PETCO Park in San Diego.
What a difference a season makes for Nathan Eovaldi. Last season, he was the hero of this Red Sox championship run. This season he has battled injuries and inconsistency all season long. Prior to getting hurt and missing weeks of actions after starting the year in the rotation, he published poor results.
Boston brought back him in late July for a relief man from the bullpen, and again he really fought to remain consistent. With Chris Sale Eovaldi has been asked to rejoin the rotation, and Boston needs him to be a hero and help continue this team.
It will be intriguing to see how well Eovaldi pitches tonight contrary to a Padres team that is actually trying hard to score runs together with Tatis out of the lineup. The Padres are currently just over three runs per game because Tatis got hurt.
Dinelson Lamet is currently starting to really make a name for himself this season for San Diego. The second-year man from the Dominican Republic has shown some flashes of being good in work this season. At which he wound up pitching seven innings and allowing no runs, he pitched a stone against the Seattle Mariners.
However, the flashes of achievement have been that, flashes, as he hasn’t managed to remain consistent to be reliable. His ERA was more than five runs in five July starts, however he’s been much better here in August as his ERA is merely 2.50 in 3 looks. The huge problem for Lamet is he just does not get heavy into games, since he’s pitched five innings or fewer in six out of his past eight starts. And he will have his hands full tonight against a Boston group that is next in the majors and on-base percent, and in batting average.
I think he’s in for a rude awakening tonight against this hard-hitting Boston squad while I have been impressed by what Dinelson Lamet has done in his last couple of starts. Slimming down the Seattle Mariners doesn’t prove to me you can take care of a lineup such as the one tonight will be used by Boston.
Paddack got blasted for six runs in two and a third innings of work, while I don’t believe Lamet would be as awful as Chris Paddack was for San Diego, I really do think he can give up numerous runs. Nathan Eovaldi is a wild card that is not easy to forecast, but something tells me he sees a way to shut this down Padres team that just can’t score runs right now.
I have been preaching all season long that lots of bettors put emphasis about the starting pitching matchup of a game. And with Lamet pitching well lately, I could see a case being made which Lamet is the better side of this pitching matchup, with all over the place Eovaldi has been this year. But one case that can’t be denied is that the Red Sox would be the general team that is much superior.
Boston has long had their own share of ups and downs this year, but they still have ten more wins than the Padres. And this group has nearly all of their roster from last year’s World Championship team, to be honest, and that I think that they find a means to back door to the playoffs before it’s all done and said.
And to accomplish this, they are going to have find a way to beat groups. And that is just exactly what I think will happen. I normally prefer to wager underdogs as I love the larger payouts, but at a spot like this one I don’t mind laying just a wood if the price is right. Give that the Boston Red Sox tonight in game two from San Diego to me!
