Its main feature is the strong general and multimedia compression, the ability to process non-RAR archive formats, ZIP compression and decompression, support for long filenames, programmable self-extracting archives (SFX), repair of damaged archives, authenticity verification, embedded file comments, and encryption.
Most times what happens is that the software is not able to handle the non English files names, however, the Win RAR’s Unicode is supported in archive filenames, allowing non-English filenames to be handled painlessly.  The user has the discretion of manipulating the paramenters of many archives at once and view the volume sequence in a single archive.

The other appreciable feature about it is that the software can convert other archive formats to RAR and search for specified text and files in archives.  With so many options to look for.. the Win RAR is a really good tool to have .
