Windows Live OneCare 2.5.2900.24 Also called a Computer’s doctor, OneCare is a real time PC health service that Takes complete care of your PC including protecting it from malicious threats by providing antivirus and firewall. This is done with the help of Protection Plus which uses antivirus and antispyware scanners, double firewall, and anti phishing technology. Scans are performed automatically or on demand.
. Windows Live OneCare Performs frequent maintenance tasks to keep the PC at optimum speed. This is achieved with the help of Performance Plus which ensures that the hard disk is defragmented at regular intervals and unnecessary files are removed. 24×7 file support is provided along with backup and restore facilities so that user information remains safe.
All of this is done silently in the background leaving you to enjoy the comfort of your PC without nasty interruptions.
In addition to taking care of the PC, OneCare updates itself on a regular basis to be aware of emerging threats and service products as well as security updates thereby saving the user the trouble of configuring the system every time a new update is available.
So that the user is aware of the condition of the PC, OneCare constantly communicates with the user through an icon from the task bar which changes color depending on the PC’s risk status. Accordingly;
. Green color would mean that the system is in good condition, all security features are up to date, updates have been configured into the system and OneCare is running in the background without any issues.
. Yellow color would mean that the system is in a fair condition. Usually the user would be required to do a tune up of the system or do a follow up on an update that requires the user’s permission. The condition is not critical but intimates the user to take action before it could possibly turn critical.
. Red color would mean that the system is in dire need of attention. This may happen when OneCare fails to update the system with latest security features or if the security feature has been turned off.
