A virus that attacks the Win 32 exe files on a computer and contains Trojan components, Win 32/Sality has been known to terminate system processes, delete system files, allow unauthorized users to gain access to information on the system or mail personal information to the domain mail.ru.
Win 32/Sality Remover is an application that effectively removes the Win 32/Sality virus from the system. Developed by Grisoft, it is free software that helps the user to clean the system off the virus by downloading three files namely rmsality.exe, rmsality.nt, rmsality.dos and by executing rmsality.exe. The disk partition that needs to be cleaned can also be mentioned as a command parameter, for example “rmsality D: E:” If no parameter is specified, by default all the partitions are checked (recommended).
A thing to be noted here is that administrator rights are required for the virus remover to run properly. Hence, it is recommended to save the additional files (rmsality.nt and rmsality.dos) in the same folder as the executable file. After the remover completes its work, run an antivirus scan to make sure that the system is virus free.

Updates to Win 32/Sality remover are available via FileCluster, however updates are not frequent and hence the software instructions might prove to be out of date. In this case, it is advisable to keep a note of new updates as and when they are sent out from the developer.
