PHP MySQL Table Manager
PHP MySQL Table Manager Review
Before jumping into the concept, it would be feasible to learn what PHP and MySQL utilities deal with. PHP is a widely-used general-purpose scripting language that is especially suited for Web development and can be embedded into HTML. Using PHP, dynamic and robust websites can be created faster and with ease. MySQL on the other hand, is the world’s most popular open source database software. With its superior speed, reliability, and ease of use, MySQL has become the preferred choice for Web companies because it eliminates the major problems associated with downtime, maintenance and administration for modern, online applications.
PHP MySQL Table Manager 3.04 is used to simplify the MySQL database used in a PHP website to a great extent. In cases of multiple databases supported by the same server, the PHP MySQL Table Manager helps the user to choose which databases need to be integrated into the website. This can be possible only if the MySQL usernames for those databases are provided. Only then can the permission be granted to perform all operations on the databases.
The program can be installed by unzipping the necessary files into a directory on the web server, opening the index.php page and entering the MySQL host, username and password.
However, the more recent BearSQL has superseded the PHP MySQL Table Manager in the areas of efficiency and speed due to which this utility is losing support in numerous data base servers.
Some of the features of this utility include:
. Provision for the creation and deletion of databases along with options to create, rename, optimize alter or drop tables and table records. Enables queries and results to be saved for optimization of query time.
. Provision for the addition and modification of keys, indexes, and properties of columns etc.
. Management of users and their privileges along with backup and restore facilities
System Requirements:
• Support for PHP scripting language with versions 4.1.0 and above.
. Support for MySQL server database
