Nvu 1 (Pronounced as N-View, referring to new view) is a WSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) web authoring tool primarily written for the Linux platform, but also has versions that run on the Windows platform and MacOS. It is a simple, yet powerful, web site builder that can rival Microsoft’s Frontpage and Adobe’s Dreamweaver.
Nvu 1 doesn’t need the users to be experts in web programming languages like HTML. It supports CSS and comes with a built-in validator too. The XHTML is entirely color coded and valid.
With all these features, and many more, Nvu makes web site development and management a lot easier. Now anyone can design their own web page and need not be an expert for it. The Nvu comes under the GPL license and it is free.
