Kaspersky Anti-Virus Mobile (Symbian)
Kaspersky Anti-Virus Mobile (Symbian) Review
With the advent of the internet and technology, ways for PC infiltration have also been on the rise. Attacks on systems by viruses, trojans, malware, adware, spyware and hackers to name a few are not uncommon. The recent shift in this trend has seen the spread of these attacks from the personal computers to all other platforms as well. One such scenario is the attempts made to attack mobile platforms. A Smart Phone is typically a smaller version of a computer and provides more features than the normal phone would do. With the increase of smart phones and communicators, malicious entities for mobile programs have also increased rapidly.
A tool that is used to safe guard a smart phone and its resources from such attacks is the Kaspersky Anti-Virus Mobile (Symbian 60) 6.0.7. Developed by the award winning Kaspersky Labs, the tool is used to effectively protect smart phones and the data stored in them. This utility applies to smart phones and communicators running the Symbian Operating systems and Microsoft Windows mobile. Providing the user with a menu and an easy to use interface, the tool helps the user to control the security settings for the Kaspersky Mobile Security settings utility and hence permits the user to view the current protection status and the event log where the application actions are stored.
The functionality of the Kaspersky Anti-Virus Mobile tool has been extended to the following operations, some of which include:
. On Access Scanning or scanning by user demand of the file system objects on the mobile device in a real time environment. This is achieved by scanning all incoming and outgoing objects transmitted, EMS and MMS messages and file transfer and operations carried out using the mobile device.
. Protection of the mobile at the network level by filtering out potentially harmful messages, files, and operations etc. This is achieved by blocking unwanted messages, or blocking access to user information stored on the device in case of unauthorized use.
. Isolation of the affected objects in a quarantine storage container thereby preventing the infection from spreading to other files.
. Updating of the Kaspersky Mobile Security Base on a real time basis to keep abreast of the latest threats to hit the market.
System Requirements:
. Runs on Symbian Operating systems in addition to Microsoft Windows Mobile.
. Support for the Symbian series with version 7.0 -8.
