As the name indicates, K9copy is a small, easy to use and an effective tool that is used to copy K9 DVDs to K5 DVDs. Allowing the copying of DVDs on the Linux Operating systems, k9copy acts as suitable backup software. Version 2.3.1 of the software has a few added advantages over its contemporaries including many visual improvements in the main window and addition of new settings like sub programs and output paths etc. The type of input and output can be chosen with the help of combo boxes as well as the selection of the default path of the output file. Visual windows are dock able and are displayed only according to output type.
k9copy uses a tool called dvdauthor to create a new DVD structure. Accordingly, the video file is streamed and compressed by the program vamps with the provision of copying without personalized menus or copying with the inclusion of personalized menus.
k9copy reproduces the exact original structure of the DVD. All IFO files and navigation tools are integrated and point on the compressed video stream stored in MPEG format. The user can also decide which streams need to be compressed and the order in which the sequences are played.
