If the in Microsoft themes’ Icons aren’t doing it for you, you need IconPackager 4.1 from Stardock. It works on Windows XP, Vista, and Server 2003.It requires a minimum screen resolution of 1024×768, 50 MB free RAM, and Impulse software for installation and updates. IconPackager 4.1 allows you to customize and change your icons varying in design, colour and size after downloading packages of icons from websites like http://www.wincustomize.com/skins.aspx?libid=2. It provides various Icon Types such as : Desktop, Start, Folders, Drives, files, launch, control panel, cursors etc. The main features of this updated version are: Icon Upscaling useful in Vista, and shell integration wherein you can change the icon by right clicking on the icon file while using Windows Explorer. If you already have the older version of IconPackager 4.1, you don’t have to uninstall that and install this version you can upgrade. You can also install additional packages off the net. However, IconPackager 4.1 is not as easy as it could have been and it is advisable to read the whole Help section before you actual start using the software.
