Active Kill Disk Hard Drive Eraser 5.0 is a data shredder application that can wipe the data of the computer’s hard disk without even getting in to the operating system. This application can be used for a security purpose that is when you don’t need the data in a hard disk anymore or you already have a backup and want the hard disk free.
The Hard Drive Eraser 5.0 runs from a DOS floppy and accesses the hard disk through the BIOS. So you need to slip in the floppy even before the operating system loads in and delete the data. As it uses BIOS, the logical structure of the drive does not matter.
New Wipe function that wipes out all unused space on existing drives, not touching existing data. You can also make a bootable Vista CD/DVD and boot from it, using Hard Drive Eraser 5.0 . The free version uses the one-pass erase method.
