GIMP 2.6.3 Review
GIMP stands for GNU Image Manipulation Program. The GIMP is free software replacement of Adobe Photoshop for such tasks as image composition, photo retouching and image authoring. It has a full suite of painting tools that includes brush, pencil, airbrush and other features. Its gradient editor and blend tool is unmatchable. GIMP supports custom brushes and patterns. As an advanced photo editing tool it has got full alpha channel support, layers and channels, multiple undo/redo, editable text layers, transformation tools, selection tools, etc. The strength of GIMP lies in the fact that it is heavily customisable unlike any other photo editor. With the GIMP Animation Package you can even load animation files. Loading and saving of animation is done in a convenient frame as layer format. It includes support for mng files.
With its innumerable set of features, GIMP can be used as a simple paint program, an expert quality photo retouching program, an online batch processing system, a mass production image renderer, an image format converter, etc.
GIMP can be used in any Windows installation.
