FrostWire 4.17
FrostWire 4.17 Review
An open source project which is produced by freelance developers around the world is the Gnutella peer to peer client called FrostWire. A tool that successfully incorporates the functionalities of LimeWire PRO and BitTorrent clients, FrostWire is used to share files across Gnutella and Bit Torrent Networks with the support provided for all types of files. FrostWire is also able to maintain the freedoms and permissions that LimeWire LLC may have been forced to withdraw.
The basic operation of FrostWire is similar to LimeWire and Bit Torrent applications wherein the user running FrostWire on the system, logs onto a network and requests a particular file. FrostWire searches all the users connected to the network (also running FrostWire on their computers) and retrieves the file from any or all the users.
Some of the features of FrostWire include:
. Support for BitTorrent utility that provides increased download speeds.
. Provision a Creative Commons License Support.
. Provision for firewall to firewall transfers, hence prevention of spyware and adware attacks and proxy support.
. Support for integration with iTunes.
. Support for maximum speed of connections with the ability to connect to more sources.
. Provision for Junk Result Filters that filter out unnecessary data.
Some of the features that are available with the version 4.17.2 include:
. Ability to save considerable bandwidth of operation by sharing the file in pieces as supported in Bit Torrent networks.
. Improved installer size.
. Better integration with BitTorrent and Magnet Links.
