A Common Entrance Test, designated as Education Common Entrance Test-2010 (Ed.CET-2010),which is a mandatory test for the admission in to the B.Ed colleges in the state will be announced by July 3rd. The EdCET test was conducted on June 13th. This year, a total of 1.88 lakh students appeared for the test in 5 methodologies. The state gives opportunity for as many as 62,000 seats in 600 colleges across the state. Prof. KS Sudheer Reddy, convener, EdCET 2010 said that the results would be released on July 3rd if no objections were raised. The common entrance test, conducted by Osmania Univeristy, Hyderabad, on behalf of the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE), for admission into B.Ed. Regular Course in the Colleges of Education in Andhra Pradesh, was held on June 13th.
The rank obtained in Ed.CET-2010 is valid for entry into B.Ed. Course for the academic year 2010-2011 only. The qualifying mark in the Entrance Test for all candidates (except SC/ST) is 37 out of total marks (i.e. 25%).
