A Common Entrance Test, EAMCET 2010 abbreviated for Engineering, Agricultural and Medical Common Entrance Test – 2010 (EAMCET – 2010) of Andhra Pradesh is conducted by Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad on behalf of Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) for entry into the first year of the professional courses offered for the academic year 2010-2011 in various government and private colleges of Andhra Pradesh. Such professional courses include engineering, medical, pharmacy, biotechnology, veterinary etc in private/government colleges in Andhra Pradesh.

EAMCET 2010 is one of the most competitive exams in Andhra Pradesh, therefore lakhs of students appear for it and the competition is tough plus a better rank will allow the student to choose the course in best colleges of their choice based on the availability of seats. There is a common entrance exam consisting of questions from Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics for all the B.Tech/B.E. courses (except B.Tech (Biotechnology)), B.Pharma (MPC) & B.Sc (Commercial Agriculture & Business Management (CA&BM). A large number of students from across the state of Andhra Pradesh appear for EAMCET every year and the competition is quite tough. A candidate should have cleared class 12th exams with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. For engineering & Pharmacy courses candidates should be atleast 16 years of age. For other courses candidates should be between 17-25 years of age on 31st December, 2010. EAMCET2010 is only open for the candidates belonging to Andhra Pradesh.
