ArtRage Starter Edition 2.5.20 – Free software for the paint enthusiast that draws using virtual tools on a virtual canvas. The result is a realistic painting. ArtRage is a painting package that simulates painting on a canvas with pens, crayons, pencils & other tools of your choice. ArtRage can be run on normal Windows but it works better with a graphics tablet. Unlike normal painting there is no mess & there is even a virtual water glass for the user to dip the paint brush in. The user is able to work on a blank canvas or can even load an image that will be traced for the user to paint over. There are choices of  virtual drawing tools like, crayons, chalk, pens, pencils, oil paint & even a palette knife with stencils & rulers. The drawing board takes up the whole screen allowing user to concentrate while keeping all tools and options easily accessible. There is an option to use metallic paint which gives the colours the correct shiny feel. Some tools & stencils are not available in the free version . The paintings can then be saved or exported to JPG, BMP, PNG format. The user gets a feel of being a painter in a digital environment.
