Angry IP Scanner is a very compact and speedy IP scanner which has an excellent scanning ability for small networks. It actually pings each IP address and first checks whether it is in function. Then, if required it can easily resolve the host name, and furthermore try to connect at the TCP port which is specified in the Options dialog box. Since the Angry IP Scanner applies individual threads for each IP address, the scanning speed is reduced thereby allowing the user to scan the address properly. IP Scanner comes with shortcuts and commands  which are useful for further checking such as ‘ping’, ‘Traceroute’, ‘Telnet’, etc.
These outputs can be exported as text reports. The amount of gathered data about each host can also be extended with plugins. Scanning results can be saved to CSV, TXT, XML or IP-Port list files. Due to its efficient scanning ability, it is widely used by banks, government agencies and the like.
