Lenovo 3000 V100 Review
The Lenovo V100 is a portable notebook which offering good performance with attractive features and which would easily fit in for small business buyer or a home user.
When Lenovo acquired IBMs PC and laptop business there were various speculations in the market about Lenovo maintaining IBMs reputation and quality. However, Lenovo has sensibly maintained the ThinkPad brand going with quality. Lenovo has retained its own brand value for its more affordable notebooks, much like this V100. The Lenovo V100 has covered up the drawbacks of the Lenovo 3000 series by filling in the ultraportable gap. Lenovo 3000 V100 notebook falls firmly under the ultra-portable category featuring a 12.1inch WXGA widescreen display offering 1280*800 pixel resolutions and weighs only 1.86Kg. With a built-in optical drive and 1.3 megapixel web camera it’s more integrated and perhaps more convenient for certain people. The V100 cannot be regarded as ThinkPad due to its curvy design and its colouring is all silver outside with black on the inside. The lenovo V100 notebook powered with Intel Core 2 Duo processor backed with 100GB Hitachi Hard Drive at 5400 rpm. The graphics part gets taken care of by Intel Media Accelerator 950 with wireless department by Intel PRO/Wireless 3945A BG 802.11a/b/g. The V100 offers a nice selection of ports with two front located speakers and some indicator lights on the left side, battery in the back side middle. Lenovo 3000 V100 provides for USB 2.0 port, VGA monitor out, ExpressCard 54 slot (ExpressCard 34 compatible), a headphone and microphone jack and then a FireWire IEEE 1394 port along with the power adapter jack at the back, the modem and ethernet port, optical drive which has a 5-in-1 media card reader and wi-fi on/off switch above it. The Lenovo V100 also provides for a 1.3 mega pixel built-in camera which performs better in a typical room lighting situation. Lenovo includes an InstantOn software feature that allows you to watch movies, listen to music or view pictures within a quick boot operating system. The Lenovo Care software makes it easy to update your system and keep it secure.
